Given by Michalis Pacini (original owner?) to Giovanni Angelo Altemps (d. 1620), probably in 1601 (date of title page, which also records gift). Later acquired by Pietro Vito Ottoboni (1610-91; Pope Alexander VIII after 1689). Donated by Ottoboni family to Pope Benedict XIV in 1748, and placed in present library.
