5 paper partbooks of an original 6 (the Sexta book being lost before 1944). No further physical description available. Copied in Treviso, for use by cathedral choir. Destroyed in 1944, but contents known from thematic catalogue made by chapter archivist Giovanni d'Alessi. A microfilm of some or all of the ms survives, which was made by Jeppesen before the war (Pozzobon 2021).
A note at the end of the Bassus partbook says "Ad clarissimum Jo. Baptistam Contarenum patavii praetorem dignissimum Guglielmus Textoris carceratus" - a plea for release from prison by Testore; its position at the end of the book may imply that Testore was the copyist or presented the collection.
Alessi identified these partbooks with the 'sei libri da motetti, altra volta scritti da messer pre Francisco Santa Croce Maestro de capella' - but this would mean they had been copied by 1551, when Santacroce ceased to be maestro di capella. BlackTrev believes this date too early (particularly for Nasco's works included in the ms, as he succeeded Santacroce) and proposes the early 1570s.
