General Description

Copied by two scribes (ff. 1'-38 + 103'-139 and ff. 39'-101 respectively); first scribe also wrote ff. 90'-118 of StuttL 39 and ff. 95'-100 of StuttL 42. GottH attributes copying of entire manuscript to Nikolaus Peuschel, based on inscription '1539 M I / NP' on f. 1, but music and text script of both scribes varies greatly from that found in manuscripts unequivocally signed by Peuschel or securely identified as his work through scribal concordances. Therefore 'NP' cannot easily be resolved as 'Nikolaus Peuschel' (Call). Copied in Stuttgart, for use by court chapel of Ulrich, Duke of Württemberg (1487-1550).
