General Description

Unique exemplars of the Attaingnant prints RISM 1535/7, 1536/4, 1536/5, 1536/2, 1536/3, and 1536/6 (= HearA #74, 69, 72, 70, 71, and 73, respectively), with manuscript additions at end. Printed music comprises ff. 1-165, manuscript additions on ff. 165'-176'. Manuscript section copied by one or two scribes. Probably copied in Paris. Later became part of personal library of Cardinal Jules Mazarin (1602-61); collection under direction of Institut de France since 1945.

iii + 176 + ii paper folios, 155 x 200, consisting of unique exemplars of the Attaingnant prints RISM 1535/7, 1536/4, 1536/5, 1536/2, 1536/3, and 1536/6 (= HearA #74, 69, 72, 70, 71, and 73, respectively), with manuscript additions at end.
