Magnificat at end of manuscript incorporates several German sacred pieces for Christmas. Copied in Nuremberg, for use at the Church of St. Egidien. Commissioned by Nuremberg city council; prepared under direction of Friedrich Lindner (ca. 1542-1597), cantor at St. Egidien, and Hieronymus Paumgartner, Jr., council administrator for church affairs. Moved in 17th century to library of Jacob Fenitzer, a Nuremberg cutler; later housed in Lorenzkirche. Transferred at an unknown time to Nuremberg Stadtbibliothek, then to Landeskirchliches Archiv.
