Copied in Munich. Commissioned by Albrecht V, Duke of Bavaria (1528-79) (inscription on p. 6). Ducal court library formed foundation of present Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.

Original covers of red gold-stamped leather over wooden boards, with corners, clasps, coat of arms of Albrecht V, Duke of Bavaria, and initials 'A H' [= Albrecht Herzog] in gilded brass. Binding by Kaspar Ritter; metal ornaments by Ulrich Schniep. Restored in 1963.
