General Description

Set of six partbooks (DATBQS). Copied by a single scribe, who also wrote parts of MunBS 1503b (Rifkin). Probably copied in Augsburg. Owned by Johann Heinrich Herwart (1520-83) of Augsburg. Herwart collection purchased by Wilhelm V, Duke of Bavaria, in 1585; placed in court library at Munich, whose holdings formed foundation of present Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.

Copied by a single scribe, who also wrote parts of MunBS 1503b (Rifkin). No initials or decoration. Watermark generally resembles Briquet #1241.
