General Description

Copied by a single scribe ('Mary of Hungary's scribe' (GGTMontserrat)), who also wrote MontsM 771, MontsM 776, and ff. 66'-90 of MontsM 765. Copied in Brussels, at the court of Mary of Hungary (daughter of Philip the Fair and Juana of Spain), Regent of the Netherlands 1531-55. Subsequent history same as for MontsM 765; manuscript listed as #11 (not #26, as incorrectly stated by PujolM) in both inventories of Philip II's books - "no. 11 de magnificas de diferentias autores" written inside cover.

*Magnificat on ff. 122'127 attributed to "Benedictus" by original scribe; later hand crossed out "Benedictus" and added "Rogerus" below. Latter attribution refers to Philippe Rogier (KirschQM); more likely a reference to Rogier Pathie, a contemporary of Benedictus Appenzeller, who likewise served at court of Mary of Hungary (Call).
