General Description

A seventh partbook (without designation?) of a set of seven volumes. Copied by a single scribe (Hernando Bustamante?), who also wrote ModE C.313 (OwensM) and perhaps ModE N.I.3. Physical aspects similar to ModE C.313. Latter set contains works for four and five voices; evidently intended as companion manuscript to ModE C.314. Copied in Ferrara, for use at the ducal court of Ercole II d'Este (1508-59) or Alfonso II d'Este (1533-97). Este family library transferred from Ferrara to Modena in 1598; joined to Modena university library in 1892.
