General Description

Masses copied by a single scribe, who also wrote MilC 186. Te Deum copied by a second scribe, motets (ff. 82'-84) by third scribe. Copied in Mantua, for use at Gonzaga ducal chapel; eventually housed in Church of Santa Barbara, completed in 1565. Further on Santa Barbara collection under MilC 12.

iii + 94 + i + iii paper folios, 425 x 283. New pencil foliation, 1-94. Blank staves only on ff. l'-2, 21'-25, 43'-46, 65'-77, 81'-82, 84'-94'. Modern covers of dark brown tooled leather over boards, restored in 1961. No index. Masses copied by a single scribe, who also wrote MilC 186. Te Deum copied by a second scribe, motets (ff. 82'-84) by third scribe. Staff height 17. Inked calligraphic initials, with filigree work.
