General Description

Single piece of music on ff. 249'-250; text honours Don Miguel Lucas de Iranzo, Constable of Castile (d. 1473). Folios with music are later insertions, copied on different paper from the remainder of the manuscript. Probably copied in Jaén (residence of Miguel Lucas) or vicinity. Apparently owned in late 15th century by Juan de Carvajal of Baeza; later owners include Melchor de Casal(?), Domingo de Urbito(?), Juan de Hinestrosa y Contreras of Seville, and King Philip V (1683-1746). Latter's library formed foundation of present Biblioteca Nacional.
