General Description

Polyphony on ff. 79, 90'-91, and 145-145'; four monophonic pieces on ff. 144-145. Monophonic and polyphonic music on ff. 144-145' copied by a single scribe; pieces on ff. 79 and 90'-91 copied by one or two additional scribes. Of south German origin; first section copied in Ingolstadt (inscription on f. 48). The scribe and original owner of this section was apparently Johannes Groner of Dillingen, a scholar active at Nördlingen and Ingolstadt. Name 'Kilianus Berchtold' on f. 90.

Original/modern covers of brown half-leather over boards (restored in 1951); clasps missing. Polyphony on ff. 79, 90'-91, and 145-145'; four monophonie pieces on ff. 144-145. Monophonic and polyphonic music on ff. 144-145' copied by a single scribe; pieces on ff. 79 and 90'-91 copied by one or two additional scribes. No initials or decoration. One watermark resembles Briquet #4900; second mark resembles Briquet #3057-9.
