General Description

A single folio used as a cover for a household account book of the Florio family in the year 1535. (This volume is now in the Archivio di Stato at Udine.) The script is of French Gothic type. The first motet is a well-known one dating from the beginning of the 14th century, but the second is a unicum.

RISM Description

RISM B/IV 2: A single parchment folio meas. 195 x 209 mm. and dating from the second half of the 14th century, UDvj 290 was used as a cover for a household account book of the Florio family in the year 1535. (This volume is now in the Archivio di Stato at Udine.) It contains motet voices in Ars Nova notation on 8 (originally perhaps 11) red five-line staves per page. There is no custos.The ms was cut away at the lower and what may be considered as the right margin. (It is difficult to be sure which side was the original recto.) The script is of French Gothic type, adorned with red initials. Although the first motet is a well-known one dating from the beginning of the 14th century, the second is a unicum.
