General Description

A single Altus partbook. Copied by one main scribe and one additional scribe. Inscription on f. 3'; 'JACQUES DE / LA HAYE / 1546.' Inscription on back: 'Josquin Desprez musica sacra.' Presumably of Franco-Netherlandish provenance; specific place of origin unknown. Apparently prepared by or for Jacques de la Haye. Came to university library in Louvain (now Leuven) at an unknown time; library destroyed by fire in August 1914.
