Text of one piece is in German, Hungarian, Polish, and Czech. From the Szepes area of medieval Hungary (today part of Czechoslovakia). Belonged in 15th century to a Dominican convent at Kosice (= Kassa = Kaschau). Subsequently used as binding for a book printed c. 1480 in Germany, but probably bound in Hungary. Manuscript was recovered by B. Rajeczky, L. Dobszay, and J. Szendrei after book was purchased and restored by the library in 1969.
