Only the cantus parts of the madrigals are present (ff. 1-5, 8'-10); ff. 14-21' and ff. 64-64' contain Italian lute intabulations of pieces such as 'Ruggiero' and 'La Franchina.' Possibly the manuscript was originally intended to be a cantus partbook, but some pieces (added later?) are in choirbook format.
Copied by two scribes; a third added the fragmentary hymn settings on ff. 5v-8 and the music on ff. 10v-13; and 2 others added tablature pieces. Much of ff. 22-70v is ruled for music but left blank.
Probably copied in Florence; inscription 'Suor Cassandra vagha' on f. 7' indicates that the manuscript probably belonged to a convent (Bori).
