2 Glorias (incomplete)
J. Legrant-1, Zacharia-1
i + 21 + i parchment folios, 370 x 260. Flyleaves, now glued inside front and back covers, measure 350 x 255; apparently the only surviving remnants of a Mass choirbook. Modern pencil foliation, 1-19, excludes flyleaves and first two folios of main corpus. Original covers of tooled leather over wooden boards, with metal boss and remnants of metal corners. Main corpus (monophony) copied in chant notation. Polyphony on front and back flyleaves, copied in black mensural notation by a single scribe. Main corpus has red, blue, and black Gothic initials decorated with filigree work; no initials or decoration on folios with polyphony.
Early 15th century (polyphony); main corpus contains date 1263, but this may not be date of copying. Probably copied in northern Italy. Note in modern hand on first folio of main corpus indicates manuscript was once at Marienberg Benedictine monastery (near present Malles Venosta).
