General Description

Score format. Copied by several scribes, including Adam Gumpelzhaimer and Johann Faust (DTB) in Augsburg. Original owner was Adam Gumpelzhaimer (1559-1625), cantor at school and church of St. Anna, Augsburg. Later owned by the collector Georg Poelchau (1773-1836); passed to Preussische Staatsbibliothek in Berlin in 1841. Formerly owned by Adam Gumpelzhaimer.

Original covers of wooden boards, with spine of white tooled leather; two metal clasps. No index remains. Score format. Copied by several scribes, including Adam Gumpelzhaimer (see below) and Johann Faust (DTB). A few inked initials; edges of folios decorated in red.

First quarter of 17th century (date 1624 inside front cover refers to time of completion and binding). Copied in Augsburg. Original owner was Adam Gumpelzhaimer (1559-1625), cantor at school and church of St. Anna, Augsburg. Later owned by the collector Georg Poelchau (1773-1836); passed to Preussische Staatsbibliothek in Berlin in 1841.
