Ff. 1'-18, 170'-185, 207'-213', and 216-224 copied by anonymous scribe, who also wrote ff. 77-90' of VatS 55. Ff. 21-29', 33-35, 36'-55, 56'-73, 74'-89, and 90'-104' copied by anonymous scribe, whose hand is unique to VatG XII.2. Ff. 186'-202, 203'-206, 225'-239', and 241-242 copied by anonymous scribe (and one assistant), who also wrote most of FlorL 666 and ff. 116'-122 of VatS 46. XVIe s. 260ff., papier, 550 x 420 mm. La foliotation ancienne en ch. romains en haut des ff. commence à XV et se poursuit irrégulièrement jusqu'à CCVI puis continue en ch. arabes jusqu'à 345. Foliotation moderne au bas des ff.: 1-260, ne tenant pas compte des ff. qui mq. Les ff. 1 à 14, 50 à 86, 107 à 124, 160 à 174 mq. d'après la foliotation originale. Les ff. 15 (1), 32v-33(18v-19), 49v(35v), 87(36), 106v(55v), 125(56), 142v-143(73v-74), 159v(89v), 175 (90), 188(103), 191v-192(106v-107), 206v(121v), 207v-208(122v-123), 230v-233(145v-148), 254-255(169v-170), 270v-271(175v-186), 287v-288(202v-203), 291v-292(206v-207), 209v-310(224v-225), 327v-328(242v-243), 345v(260v), sont blancs. Ce ms. de plusieurs mains où l'on reconnaît, entre autres, l'une des écritures du «Codice Medici» copié en 1518 (cf. I-F1666), fournit un répertoire se situant aux environs de 1520, date qui doit correspondre approximativement à celle de sa compilation. Cependant, la présence d'une messe d'Animuccia (no 8) a pu faire penser qu'une partie tout au moins du ms. aurait été copiée à la fin du pontificat de Paul III, dans les dernières années de 1540 (Smijers, Llorens). Il s'agit en réalité d'une messe copiée d'une autre main après la constitution du ms. sur des p. restées libres, car pour les pièces suivantes, on en revient à la même écriture et au même répertoire que précédemment.
