General Description

Two partbooks (Discantus and Tenor). Copied by a single scribe. Probably of German origin. Once part of Palatine electoral library in Heidelberg. City conquered in 1622 by troops of Maximilian I, Duke of Bavaria (1573-1651); much of electoral library sent to Rome in 1623 as gift to Pope Gregory XV.

XVIe s. 2 livres de 8ff. chacun. Parchemin, 155X195 mm. Restes d'une foliotation ancienne en haut des ff. Foliotation moderne continue pour les 2 livres: 1—16. Les ff. 4 à 8 et 12 à 16 sont blancs. Notation mesurée blanche. 4 portées par p. Les 2 fasc, sans couverture, Sup. et Bassus, sont réunis dans une pochette moderne de parchemin blanc. Les autres parties mq.

2 parchment partbooks (DT-8 folios each), 154 x 191. Modern pencil foliation on lower right rectos, 1-8 (D) + 9-16 (T). Last five folios in each book blank. Partbooks now preserved unbound in modern vellum envelope. Copied by a single scribe. No initials or decoration.

Early 16th century? Probably of German origin. Once part of Palatine electoral library in Heidelberg. City conquered in 1622 by troops of Maximilian I, Duke of Bavaria (1573-1651); much of electoral library sent to Rome in 1623 as gift to Pope Gregory XV.
