Copied by several scribes, including Stephan Roth. Copied in Zwickau. Owned by Stephan Roth (1492-1546), rector of Latin school at Zwickau 1517-20, city scribe of Zwickau 1526-46. Bequeathed by Roth to Zwickau Ratsschulbibliothek in 1546.

RISM Description

RISM BIV/3: 16. Jh.; 272 Blätter Papier, 137 x 100 mm. Originalfoliierung ab 3. Blatt von f. 1-270. Je Seite meist 5 Fünfliniensysteme mit gotischer Choralnotation, deutscher choral-mensuraler Mischnotation und weißer Mensuralnotation - Einband: 16. Jh.; Pergamenttasche mit Bindfadenverschluß.

Diese auf dem 1. Blatt (Register) als Responsoriale bezeichnete Handschrift wurde in der ersten Hälfte des 16. Jh. großenteils von Stephan Roth (vergleiche D-Zr119), aber auch von anderen Händen in Zwickau geschrieben. Bei den zum Hauptcorpus gehörenden und mehrfach als Introitus bezeichneten Stücken sind den einzelnen Stimmen oft verschiedene Strophen desselben Liedes unterlegt. Beachtenswert sind die textlichen und zum Teil auch musikalischen Beziehungen zum böhmischen Repertoire. Die Texte sind mehrheitlich lateinisch, vereinzelt deutsch oder auch doppelsprachig. Bei einigen Stücken sind die Stimmbezeichnungen invers geschrieben: Ronet, Sussab.
