General Description

The 4th volume of the great manuscripts of the protestant Gradual of St. Stephen's Church of the New Town of Prague, containing the Proprium Sanctorum. All texts are Czech. The only polyphonic work is added on an inserted leaf (original f. V 19bis).

RISM BIV/3: 16. Jh.; 415 Blätter Papier, 310 x 200 mm. Moderne Foliierung von f. 1-356 (jedes 10. Blatt mit Bleistift bezeichnet, jedoch leere Blätter nicht mitgezählt); originale Foliierung von A I-XX bis Z IV. Je Seite 8 Fünfliniensysteme mit böhmischer Choralnotation (zum Teil mit mensuralen Elementen). - Einband: 16. Jh.; mit weißem Leder überzogene Holzdeckel, Blindpressung (Datierung des Einbandes: 1563).

Diese Handschrift bildet den 4. Band des großen utraquistischen Gradual-Kantionals der Stephanskirche der Prager Neustadt, geschrieben in der 2. Hälfte des 16. Jh. (im 4. Band Jahreszahlen: 1585, 1591, 1594). Das einzige, in weißer Mensuralnotation geschriebene, mehrstimmiges Stück ist ein Nachtrag und steht auf einem eingeschobenen Blatt (originale f. V 19bis).

Inhalt: Band 4 enthält das Proprium Sanctorum. Alle Texte sind tschech.

This manuscript is the 4th volume of the great manuscripts of the protestant Gradual of St. Stephen's Church of the New Town of Prague, written in the 2nd Half of the 16th Century (in volume 4 the years 1585, 1591, 1594 are written). The only polyphonic work written in white mensural notation is added on an inserted leaf (original f. V 19bis).
