General Description

A part-Hussite antiphonary or Vesperal, from a monastery library. Later in the Jesuit Library in Prague. With the exception of 2 pieces, the manuscript contains only monophonic works. Between f. 148 and f. 149 were probably originally songs by John Hus. Contents: f. 1-197 Vesperal with proprium de tempore and de Sanctis. The texts are in Latin, with few exceptions.

RISM BIV/3: 16. Jh.; 206 Blätter Papier + 7 Vorsatzblätter, 202 x 135 mm. Moderne Foliierung von f. 1-198 (zu Beginn und am Ende mehrere nichtfoliierte Blätter). Je Seite meist 5 rote Vierliniensysteme mit böhmischer Choralnotation -Einband: 16. Jh.; mit Pergament überzogene Leinwanddecke, Lederrücken.

Die Handschrift ist ein hussitisches Teil-Antiphonar beziehungsweise Vesperale des 16. Jh. Sie stammt aus einer Klosterbibliothek und gelangte später in die Prager Jesuitenbibliothek. Mit Ausnahme von 2 Stücken enthält die Handschrift nur Einstimmiges. Zwischen f. 148 und f. 149 befanden sich ursprünglich vermutlich Gesänge von Joh. Hus.

Inhalt: f. 1—197 Vesperale mit Proprium de tempore und de sanctis. Die Texte sind mit wenigen Ausnahmen lateinisch.
