General Description

Must have belonged to the Order of the literary fraternities of Rychnov nad Kněžnou in 1556 and only contains Advent and Christmas songs. The music throughout the Czech texts is often indicated only by incipit. There is only one polyphonic piece.

RISM BIV/3: 16. Jh.; 101 Blätter Papier, 450 x 290 mm. Moderne Foliierung (jede 10. Seite). Je Seite wechselnde Zahl von roten Fünfliniensystemen mit böhmischer Choralnotation und vereinzelt schwarzer Mensuralnotation — Einband: 16. Jh.; mit Leder überzogene Holzdeckel, Blindpressung, Messingbeschläge.

Dieses 1556 im Auftrag der Literatenbrüderschaften von Rychnov nad Kněžnou geschriebene Kantionale enthält nur Advents- und Weihnachtsgesänge. Die Musik zu den durchwegs tschechischen Texten ist oft nur durch das Incipit angezeigt. Mehrstimmig ist nur ein Stück.

[Translation] 16th century, 101 paper leaves, 450 x 290 mm. Modern foliation (every 10th page). Each folio has a varying number of red five-line systems in Bohemian choral notation and isolated black mensural notation. Binding: 16th century, with leather-covered wooden boards, blind tooling, brass fittings.
