General Description

Viennese processional from the Schottenstift St. Mary Magdalene. From f. 44v-46, music is found notated in score on originally blank pages, probably added partially in the late 14th or early 15th century.

RISM BIV/3: 13/15. Jh.; 1 + 101 Blätter Pergament, 210 x 157 mm. Moderne Foliierung von f. 1-101; das leere Vorsatzblatt ist nicht foliiert. - Einband: vermutlich 15. Jh.; mit rotem Leder überzogene Holzdeckel.

Die Handschrift, ein aus Wien (Schottenstift St. Maria-Magdalena) stammendes Prozessionar aus dem 13. Jh., enthält von f. 44v-46 eine in gotischer Choralnotation geschriebene, auf ursprünglich leeren Seiten vermutlich im späten 14. oder frühen 15. Jh. nachgetragene zweistimmige Lektion. Je Seite 8 schwarze Fünfliniensysteme (Partiturnotation).

Inhalt: f. 1-25v Prozessionsordnung; f. 26-43 Prozessionsgesänge, Litaneien, Sequenz (Quadratnotation auf 4 roten Linien, 13. Jh.); f. 44v-46 siehe Incipitverzeichnis; f. 46-46v „Alleluja, hec est speciosior", Sequenz „Imperatrix angelorum" (DChN, einstimmig, 14. Jh.); ab f. 47 Passions-, Oster- und Himmelfahrtsoffizien (Notation wie f. 26ff., 13. Jh.); f. 80-100 (13. Jh., mit später eingeschobenen f. 94/95, datiert 1489) De officiis sepulturae; f. 100v/101 Regina celi letare (14. Jh.); f. 101v (Nachtrag) Surrexit pastor bonus; im Rückendeckel: deutsches Marienlied.

The manuscript, a Viennese processional from the Schottenstift St. Mary Magdalene, originated in the 13th century. From f. 44v-46, music is notated in gothic choral notation on originally blank pages, probably added partially in the late 14th or early 15th century. 8 black five-line systems per page (score notation).
