General Description

Recovered from binding of manuscript sermons by Konrad von Brundelsheim (d. 1321?); now preserved separately. Apparently the only surviving remnants of larger musical manuscript. Copied by one or two scribes. Of German origin; perhaps copied in East Franconia (BrunnerW). Fragments removed from original context and used as endpapers in Brundelsheim sermon manuscript, probably in late 15th or early 16th century. Owned by Augustinian monastery in Bad Windsheim; passed to local Stadtbibliothek in 1525 upon dissolution of monastery. Music fragments removed from sermon book c. 1914 and transferred to university library in Erlangen for further study; returned to present library in 1981.
