General Description

Completed by Sister Gertrude Brickwege in the Benedictine monastery of Gertrudenberg in Osnabrück in 1505. In the 19th Century the codex was in the private library of the suffragan bishop Lüpke († 1855), and later in the possession of the dean Schoo († 1907), who worked in the Archives of Bischöfl and from there was in the possession of the Vicar General of Osnabrück. The manuscript contains various Ordines and rubrics, prayers, antiphons, offices of the dead, litanies, and finally, a Latin and Low German Easter Play (f. 130ff.). The latin texts are consistently notated scores (usually monophonic); individual voice parts are distributed in parts. Nos. 1-3 may substitute voices.

RISM Description

RISM B IV/3: 15./16.
