A Bohemian-Protestant Graduale, known as the 'Malostranský Graduale', exclusively with Czech texts. Polyphonic works (almost exclusively mass Ordinary movements: Patrem (Credo) and Sanctus) are on ff. 235-282. The graduale originates from the St. Nicholas Church in Prague Lesser Town (see f. 282). It was to be used by the guild of butchers of Prague's Lesser Town.

Je Seite 9 rote Fünfliniensysteme mit böhmischer Choralnotation, schwarzer und weißer Mensuralnotation - Einband: 16. Jh.; mit ursprünglichem weißem Leder überzogene Holzdeckel, Blindpressung, schwere Messingbeschläge.
Dieses wundervoll illuminierte böhmisch-utraquistische Graduale, das sog. Graduale Malostranský, stammt aus der Nikolauskirche der Prager Kleinseite (vergleiche f. 282). Es wurde zwischen 1560 und 1573 geschrieben und war, wie das große, ganzseitige Wappen auf f. 23 zeigt, für die Gesangsbruderschaft der Fleischer der Prager Kleinseite bestimmt.
Inhalt: Graduale mit ausschließlich tschech. Texten. Mehrstimmige Werke (fast ausschließlich Ordinariumssätze: Patrem und Sanctus) von f. 235-282.

This beautifully illuminated Bohemian-Protestant Graduale, known as the "Malostranský Graduale", originates from the St. Nicholas Church in Prague Lesser Town (see f. 282). It was written between 1560 and 1573 (as the large, full coat of arms on f. 23 shows,) to be sung by the guild of butchers of Prague's Lesser Town.
