General Description

A Bohemian protestant Gradual-Kantionale from the literary fraternity in Litomysl, produced to replace hymn books burned in 1550. Contains Graduale, Alleluia, Officia, Prosen and Kantionen, all in in Czech.

RISM B IV/3: 16. Jh.; 520 Blätter Pergament; 600 x 390 mm. Originale Foliierung von f. I-X; moderne Foliierung von f. 1-520. Je Seite meist 9 rote Fünfliniensysteme mit böhmischer Choralnotation und schwarzer Mensuralnotation — Einband: 16. Jh.; mit Leder und grün-rotem Samt überzogene Holzdeckel, Messingbeschläge.

Dieses zwischen 1561 und 1563 geschriebene, alt-utraquistische Gradual-Kantionale stammt von der Literatenbruderschaft in Litomyšl, die es anstelle der um 1550 verbrannten Choralbücher herstellen ließ. Illuminiert wurde der Band von Matouš Orniš (Pták).

Inhalt: Alles in tschechischer Sprache; Graduale, Alleluia, Officia, Prosen und Kantionen.
