General Description

This manuscript, dating from around 1500, is of Italian origin and is thought to have been written by a certain Jacobus Fallo (see f. 21v), from a (Franciscan?) Monastery. The verso of the sheet shows the dates 1501 and 1504. The manuscript contains responsories, antiphons, hymns, Benedicamus, verse, litanies, psalms, canticles, readings and lecture notes. Only 2 pieces are polyphonic. The rectos of both the original cover page and the end papers are slightly earlier in date.

RISM B IV/4: 15./16. Jh.; 45 Blätter Pergament + je 1 originales und 1 modernes Vorsatz- und Nachstoßblatt, 125 x 88 mm. Moderne Bleistiftfoliierung von f. 1-45. Je Seite 6 rote Dreiliniensysteme und ab f. 29 5 rote Vierliniensysteme mit Quadratnotation (ab f. 43r mit mensuralen Elementen). - Einband: modernes Leder mit Goldpressung Missale.

Diese vermutlich von einem gewissen Jacobus Fallo (vergleiche f. 21v) um 1500 geschriebene Handschrift ist wohl oberitalienischer Herkunft und dürfte aus einem (Franziskaner- ?) Kloster stammen. Das von der Haupthand auf dem Verso des Vorsatzblattes eingetragene Kalendar zeigt die Jahreszahlen 1501 und 1504. Die Handschrift enthält Responsorien, Antiphonen, Hymnen, Benedicamus, Versikel, Litaneien, Psalmen, Cantica, Lesungen und Lektionstöne. Mehrstimmig sind nur 2 Stücke. Etwas jüngere Eintragungen stehen auf dem originalen Vorsatzblatt recto und dem Nachstoßblatt recto.
