Original covers of crude brown leather, perhaps deerskin, with some hair remaining; three leather thongs secure covers to folios. No index. Some black inked calligraphic initials. Copied by at least three scribes, one of whom was Francisco de Leon. Inscription on f. 1: "Libro de sancta olaya puyumatlan Este libro de canto hize yo Fran.co de Leon maestro deste pueblo De sancta olaya hize lo En el año De mill y quinientos y ochenta y Dos años."
