RISM B IV/3: 16. Jh.; 549 Blätter Papier + 1 Vorsatzblatt, 410 x 280 mm. Moderne Foliierung von f. 1-549; originale Foliierung von A I-XVI bis T VIII (= mod. f. 77-374). Je Seite 8 rote Fünfliniensyst. mit böhmischer Choralnotation und schwarzer Mensuralnotation — Einband: 16. Jh.; mit weißem Leder überzogene Holzdeckel.

Dieses wichtige und bisher wenig bekannte Gradual-Kantionale stammt aus der Werkstatt des Johannes Táborský : "Hoc opus perfecit Joannes Taborinus Prage anno Christi 1537" (f. 546). Die Handschrift wurde vermutlich für die Marienkirche von Klatovy geschrieben (vergleiche die Benutzervermerke von Kantoren aus den Jahren 1580 und 1585). Überschriften bezeichnen durchwegs den liturgischen Ort der einzelnen Stücke. Zudem wird ausdrücklich zwischen Cantilena (Motette) und Cantio (Strophenlied) unterschieden.

Inhalt: f. 1-76v Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus; f. 77ff. Proprium missae; f. 224ff. Prosae (Sequenzen); f. 399ff. Patrem; f. 439ff. Cantilenae (Motetten); f. 483ff. Cantiones (meist einstimmig). - Am Ende jedes Abschnittes sind jeweils mehrere Blätter für Nachträge frei gehalten.

Binding: 16th century, wood boards covered with white leather.

This important and hitherto little-known manuscript Gradual could come from the workshop of John Táborský: "Hoc opus perfecit Joannes Taborinus Prague anno Christi 1537" (fol. 546). The manuscript was probably written for the church of St. Mary of Klatovy (see the notes of cantors from the years 1580 and 1585). Headlines consistently indicate the location of the various liturgical pieces. In addition, they explicitly distinguish between Cantilena (Motet) and Cantio verse (song).

Contents: f. 1-76v Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, f. 77ff. mass propers, f. 224 ff. Prose (sequences), f. 399ff. Patrem, f. 439ff. Cantilenae (motets), f. 483ff. Cantiones (most monophonic). At the end of each section several pages are left blank for addenda.
