General Description

A copy of the songbook by Olaf Jónssonar from Söndum (1560-1627) which has been in the possession of H.Thorsteinsson of Iceland. It contains, with one exception, only monophonic pieces: psalms and hymns in Icelandic.

RISM B IV/4: 17. Jh.; 110 Blätter Papier + 3 Vorsatz- und 2 Nachstoßblätter, 185 x 152 mm. Originalfoliierung von f. 1-110. Je Seite wechselnde Zahl von Vierliniensystemen (ausnahmsweise 5 Linien) mit Quadratnotation und weißer Mensuralnotation - Einband: 18. Jh.; Schafsfell mit Metallschließen.

Diese Handschrift ist eine 1693 von H. Thorsteinsson in Island hergestellte Kopie des nicht mehr erhaltenen Liederbuches von Ólaf Jónssonar aus Söndum (1560-1627). Sie enthält mit einer Ausnahme nur einstimmige Stücke: Psalmen und geistliche Lieder
