A single Altus partbook. A book of service settings, the main corpus is organised as a collection of morning canticles (Venite-Te Deum-Jubilate-Benedictus) from various services; followed by a collection of Kyrie-Creeds, and then of the evening canticles (Magnificat-Nunc dimittis), mostly from the same services and in the same sequence. Some late 18th century additions in spaces left by earier copying; the inventory here excludes those late additions.

Because the pages have ben rebound in the wrong order, the Kyrie-Creed settings now come first, followed by the evening canticles and last the morning canticles.

Main corpus copied by Toby Brookinge, who also wrote most of DurC C2, DurC C11, DurC C13, DurC C16, and YorkM 29, parts of DurC C4, and some additions in DurC C8 (Brian Crosby); much later additions (some non-musical) by several other scribes, on pages left blank by Brookinge. Copied in Durham, perhaps for ecclesiastical official at Durham Cathedral. Owned in late 18th century by F. Dixon. Inscription on front flyleaf: 'Edward Forster e libris J. F. Forster.'
