Mainly contains the miracles and Passion of St. Fides. Musical notation appears at beginning and end of the codex. The first piece, Gratulemur et letemur in honour of St. James, is also in the Compostela codex; here it is in the earliest type of notation to be found in the source, namely Aquitanian point neumes on a single dry line with no clef. On f. 2-3v in square notes is a 13th century officium rhythmicum consisting of 22 Antiphons, 14 Responsories and an Invitatory. The music on f. 109-116 (f. 16-23 of the original) belongs to a breviary unconnected with the rest of the present MS. The staffless French neumes are quite adiastematic. The polyphonic piece is written in square notes, and the semibreve represents single notes. Obviously the composition was inserted in order to fill up a blank space. The MS probably originated in Conques, centre of St. Fides veneration.

RISM Description
RISM B/IV 1: An 11th-13th century parchment manuscript meas. 322 x 220 mm. and containing 120 folios. In addition, there are some modern parchment flyleaves at both front and back. The binding dates from 1930 and is of modern brown leather with attractive, pseudo-medieval, deep tooling on the front and back cover. A contrasting maroon is employed for framing rectangles and medallions. The codex mainly contains the miracles and Passion of St. Fides, and this part of the ms dates from the end of the 11th century, as can easily be deduced from the green and red decorated initials and the Carolingian script. Musical notation appears at beginning and end of the codex. The first piece, Gratulemur et letemur in honour of St. James, is also in the Compostela codex. Here it is in the earliest type of notation to be found in the source, namely Aquitanian point neumes on a single dry line with no clef. The polyphonic piece is probably late 12th or early 13th century. It is written in square notes on 2 four-line dry-point staves, and the semibreve represents single notes. Obviously the composition was inserted in order to fill up a blank space. The ms probably originated in Conques, centre of St. Fides veneration.
