RISM B/IV 1: A 13th century parchment manuscript meas. 262 x 180 mm. and containing 256 folios + 2 unnumbered paper and 2 unnumbered parchment flyleaves at the front and the same at the back. The contents are the Miracles of Gautier de Coincy written in a rather rougher but similar script to GautierN. There is no old foliation, but a 17th or 18th century ink one appears at t.r.r. The 17th century binding of red morocco with gilt tooling was for the Colbert library, in which the ms was no. 1628. The text of the Miracles is written in 2 cols, with red-blue initials or vice versa. The monody is written on 13 red four-line staves per page, while the polyphony is usually on 2 red four-line, occasionally five-lines staves in 6 accolades. The undifferentiated square notes, often like breves, are reminiscent of the notation of the Notre Dame school.
