A calendar for the Dominican use (f.I-6, after 1326) perhaps of a convent of the diocese of Strasbourg, and a Psalter adapted for Cistercian use, from a Dominican convent then the Cistercian abbey of Pairis. 13th century. Flyleaves contain 14th century Ars Nova music.

RISM B/IV 2: A 13th century parchment manuscript meas. 195 x 145 mm. and containing 130 folios (f. 36 has been missed in the new ink foliation at t.r.r.). This Psalter from the Cistercian Abbey of Pairis also includes 2 much damaged 14th century flyleaves, f. A and f. 132 at each end of the codex, meas. respectively approximately 190 x 135 mm. and 155 x 100 mm. The Psalter is in semi-Gothic script and has an illuminated B with David playing the harp at the beginning (f. 7). Preceding this is a calendar (f. 1-6v). Most initials are in red, and the most important in red, blue and green. The binding is of white pigskin over wooden boards with bevelled edges; a clasp is missing. The two flyleaves contain music in Ars Nova notation, the front page being upside down. There are five or six red lines to each stave. The first three pieces are motets in the peripheral style exemplified particularly by such German sources as CH-EN 314. The last piece, which is in score, appears to be in conductus style.
