Many folios in very poor condition due to severe ink corrosion; some music now illegible
Binding
Original covers of leather over wooden boards, with metal corners. Front cover blind tooled with coat of arms of Cappella Giulia and inscription 'Cappella Nativitatis Bte. Maria in Sto. Petro'; back cover tooled with representation of St. Peter, coat of arms of Giovanni Battista dei Cavalieri (see below), and date 'MDXXXVI.'

Illuminated miniatures and borders on ff. 3'-4 contain coats of arms of Pope Julius II (1443-1513); of Cappella Giulia; and of its maestro di cappella, Giovanni Battista dei Cavalieri (LlorCG).

Dans la foliotation moderne les ff. lr-v, 3, 53v, 54, 99v, 100, 156v, 157, 160v, 161r-v sont blancs. Notation mesurée blanche. 10 portées par p. Au f. 2r-v: «Jesus Maria. Tabula Motetti scripti Anno MQXXXVI.» Aux ff. 3v-4, cinq miniatures avec les armes de la Cappella Giulia et l'arbre de la famille Della Rovere, fondatrice de la chapelle. Rehure du XVIe s. cuir estampé, coins métal, portant au centre du plat antérieur l'écusson de la Cappella Giulia et l'inscription: «Cappella Nativitatis beate Marie in sancto Petro», au plat postérieur l'image de Saint Pierre, les armes de Mons. Cavalieri (maître de chapelle à St. Pierre) avec la date MDXXXVI.
