DIAMM Help
The Website
How to find your way around the website
DIAMM was conceived as a resource for academic researchers working on Medieval music. Because it was designed for users who are already familiar with the information it contains, it may not be immediately obvious when you enter the site how to find out what is here and in what ways you can use it.
We hope in the future to add a section that helps non-expert users to get more out of the website. We would be glad to hear of any suggestions for content in that section. Please use the contact page.
to send in your suggestions.
The content of the website is divided into four sections and a Home page:
- Home
- About DIAMM
- Manuscript Images
- Services
- My DIAMM
- Help
If you click on any of these headings you will go to that section. In some cases (About DIAMM, Manucript images) a new navigation bar will appear on the left of the screen that divides up the content of that subject area into smaller sections.
About DIAMM tells you about the project, who is involved with it and what we do generally.
Services tells you about the services offered by DIAMM to other projects and individuals.
Manuscript Images enters the part of the site that allows you to access information about manuscripts see pictures of them where they are available. You MUST be logged in to see the manuscript images. They are not available to non-registered users.
My DIAMM is for registered users. Anyone can register for use of the DIAMM resource (it is free), and the links in this section will guide you through the steps. Your password will be sent to your e-mail account. You do not have to register for use of the site in order to read about the manuscripts, but you will need to be registered to look at the images. (Your registration details will not be used for mailing or communicated to a third party.) Registration creates a set of tools that are personalised for the user, and this, together with the agreement to respect the copyright regulations that you agree to during registration is why we ask users to register on the site before gaining access to the images.
